We partnered with Sealston Elementary School in King George county to provide weekend meals for students who receive food assistance at school during the week.
We provided easily prepared meals each week that consist of two breakfast items like instant oatmeal, two lunch items such as microwaveable mac & cheese, two drinks in boxes or pouches and two nutritious snacks. Here you see members of our congregation assembling the meal packages into gallon-size plastic bags for delivery to the schools.
We assisted the Micah Residential Recovery Program in Fredericksburg, Virginia by volunteering to serve meals and provide entertainment for residents of their temporary respite facility. Micah is an ecumenical ministry undertaken by several churches in the Fredericksburg area. The Residential Recovery Program provides short term care for chronic homeless patients who do not qualify for hospital inpatient care. Our congregation met with and served up to eight facility guests on the first Saturday and third Thursday of each month.

"Hope for Appalachia"
There are many families suffering from lack of work and opportunities throughout Appalachia. To bring a little of Christ's love to those families our church participated in the 2019 campaign for Hope for Appalachia. We filled over 20 large shoe boxes with school supplies, personal care items, and small toys for children in three different age groups spanning pre-kindergarten to 8th grade. We offer our prayers that a little kindness will go a long way in helping these youth "to walk in His footsteps."
